Delete your account and data

How to delete your WhereDidItGo account, or only some of its data, from the app or the website, and what happens to it. WhereDidItGo is run by DraVan Technologies S.A.R.L. -S..

Last updated 10 October 2026.

1.Delete your account

Enter the email address you sign in with. We send you a link and a six-digit code; open the link, or type the code, and you come back to this page signed in, where you read what will be deleted and confirm. You do not need the app.

We email a link and a six-digit code. Opening it brings you back here to confirm. Nothing is deleted until you do.

2.Or delete it from the app or the website

In the WhereDidItGo app (iOS and Android):

  1. Open Settings from the menu.
  2. Choose “Delete your account”.
  3. Read what happens to each household, type DELETE and confirm. You may be asked to sign in again first.

On the website: sign in, then Settings, Security & privacy, “Delete your account”.

3.What is deleted

Deleting your account is immediate. It deletes:

  • You: your email address, name, passkeys, linked Google or Apple sign-in, devices, sessions and preferences.
  • Every household only you belong to, with everything in it: its accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, goals, bills, rules, investment holdings and what the AI categorizer remembered about its merchants.
  • Bank connections of those households. Each consent is ended at the bank first; if a bank cannot be reached, nothing is deleted and you can try again.
  • A subscription bought on the website is cancelled and its payment customer record deleted. One bought in the App Store or Google Play can only be cancelled there: cancel it first, and the deletion then goes through.

A household you share with other people is not deleted: you leave it, the others keep their money, and what you added shows as by a former member. If you are its only owner, make another member the owner first, or delete the household for everyone from Settings, Household.

4.What is kept, and for how long

Almost nothing outlives your account, and what does is limited and unidentifiable where it can be. This is the complete list; the same table is in our privacy policy, and the periods are the ones our systems enforce.

What is kept after an account is deleted, and for how long
WhatHow longWhy
Sign-in and security events about someone who has deleted their account.Made unidentifiable within minutes of the deletion: the email address and IP address are replaced by a keyed hash and the browser identifier is removed. The row is deleted 12 months after the event.A fraud or abuse investigation must still be able to tell that the same person or address came back, without keeping who they were.
Who changed what in a household, and when (its activity log).24 months. When the person who made a change deletes their account, their IP address and browser identifier are removed and the change is shown as by a former member.Accountability inside a household two people can both change.
What you write to us and our replies, including privacy requests.24 months after the matter is closed.Long enough to follow up, and to show how and when we answered a request; not longer.
Invoices and payment records held by Stripe, or by the App Store or Google Play.As long as tax law requires (seven years in the Netherlands). Deleting your account deletes the customer record we hold, not those invoices.A legal obligation, not ours to waive.
Encrypted database backups.14 days. Data you delete leaves the backups within that time.Recovery from a failure; backups are never read for any other purpose.
Operational logs: what the app writes (the method, path, status and duration of a request, never a body or a header) and the request log Google Cloud writes for every request, which also carries the client IP address and the address requested.30 days.Keeping the service running and investigating an attack. They are used for nothing else.

5.Delete only some of your data

You do not have to delete your account to remove data.

  • Erase household data (owners): in the app, Settings, “Erase household data”; on the website, Settings, Security & privacy. Choose any of bank connections, transactions, budgets, goals, bills and income, rules and what the app learned, and investment holdings. The accounts, categories, members and plan stay, and every member is told by email.
  • One thing at a time: any member can delete a transaction, an account, a budget, a goal or a bill from its own screen.
  • A whole household: an owner can delete it for everyone from Settings, Household.
  • A copy first: Settings, Security & privacy, “Download my data”.

6.If you cannot sign in

If you no longer receive email at the address of your account, see Help and support, or write to [email protected] from that address if you still can.
